Pluto
Pluto is the ninth planet from the sun. It is farther from the sun than any other planet.
If you stood on Pluto, the sun would look just like a bright star in the sky. Pluto is so far away that it gets little of the sun’s heat. That is why it is freezing cold on Pluto.
Some scientists think that Pluto was once one of Neptune’s moons that escaped from orbit and drifted into space. Other scientists believe it has always been a planet in our solar system and other scientists believe that it was an astheroid captured by the Sun force of gravity.
Pluto is so far away from the sun that it takes 247 Earth years to orbit the sun once.
